Philipp Fürhofer’s (b. Augsburg, 1982; lives and works in Berlin) practice fuses painting, sculpture, and installation art. The artist, who has also built a thriving career as a set designer working for theaters in Germany and abroad, combines novel materials with elements of classical opera and German and Nordic nineteenth-century art in creations that are resolutely contemporary.
The book Dissonance—Platform Germany showcases the art of the eighty-one most important painters working in Germany in the past two decades. Some of them have graciously agreed to allow DCV to release limited editions of their works.
