Sie wagen ein Urteil, decken Unerwartetes auf und suchen den Mehrwert in \u00e4sthetisch mitrei\u00dfenden Leistungen programmatischer Pluralit\u00e4t. Shara Hughes (geb. 1981 in Atlanta, lebt und arbeitet in New York) bezeichnet ihre Bilder und Zeichnungen als psychologische oder erfundene Landschaften. Die Gema\u0308lde nutzen, wie der New Yorker schrieb, \u201ealle mo\u0308glichen Tricks, um zu verfu\u0308hren, und schaffen es dennoch, als arglose Visionen von gar nicht so fernen Welten zu erscheinen\u201c. Mit O\u0308lfarbe, Pinsel, Spachtel und Spray zelebriert die Ku\u0308nstlerin die Malerei an sich und zitiert dabei nicht selten die Meister anderer Kunstepochen. Shara Hughes studierte an der Rhode Island School of Design und besuchte spa\u0308ter die Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Ihre neuesten Einzelausstellungen sind in der FLAG Art Foundation, New York, und im Kunstmuseum Luzern zu sehen.<\/p>\n

Der Entstehungsprozess bleibt ablesbar an den bruch-roh verbleibenden Teilen und den Spuren der verschiedenen Werkzeuge. Parallel und eng verwandt dazu entstehen Zeichnungen und Collagen als eigenst\u00e4ndige Werke oder als Bestandteile der Installationen. Formale Impulse des skulpturalen Konzepts werden dabei aufgegriffen, grafisch verarbeitet und zur\u00fcck projiziert in die plastische Arbeit.
